Simina first discovered URBACT in 2010 when she joined the team in what was at the time a new adventure—the first URBACT Summer University. Mission accomplished, Simina moved to Rome, where, for almost three years, she worked with local and national governments around Europe, building partnerships for integrated local development. She also coordinated research projects in her native country, Romania. Back to URBACT in 2014, she is Communication and Capitalisation Officer, in charge with the development and implementation of the programme’s communication strategy, focusing on how to best capture, highlight and share the content and knowledge developed by the cities. She also provides support to all city practitioners across Europe involved in URBACT in communicating better and further their results. European at heart, curious by nature and anthropologist by training, Simina believes in communication, unexpected encounters and innovation above all.
