With the autumn comes the season of big European meetings on Regional and Urban Policies, here we gathered input from throughout Europe on the appointments not to be missed in 2015! Take Note!

Of course the big Rendez-Vous of the autumn is the EU Open Days! Taking Place in Brussels on the 12th – 15th October 2015
The European Week of Regions and Cities is an annual four-day event during which cities and regions showcase their capacity to create growth and jobs, implement European Union cohesion policy, and prove the importance of the local and regional level for good European governance.
The event was created in 2003 when the Committee of the Regions and has been bringing live every year dozens of workshops and gathering representatives of cities and regions from throughout Europe. This year’s novelty is the OPEN Urban DAY on the 14th of October.

There will be three URBACT workshops.

27th – 29th September, Ljubljana, Slovenia: Spa-ce.net on “Green infrastructure in Central, Eastern and South Eastern Europe: A universal solution to current environmental and spatial challenges?”. This is organised by the network of spatial research and planning in Central, Eastern and South Eastern Europe.

7th and 9th of October, Ljubljana, Slovenia: CIVITAS Forum ConferenceThe theme of the conference is “Sharing the city” with a focus on sustainable urban mobility.

7th-9th October, Glasgow, UK: The Unusual Suspects Festival
According to their website, the Festival grew out of a frustration of attending events and constantly seeing the same people and having the same conversations. The organisers’ wanted to hear from the ‘unusual suspects’. SIX, Collaborate and the Caloustse Gulbenkian Foundation hosted the Festival for the first time in London in 2014. This is the second edition!

13th-16th October, Turin, Italy: The World Forum on Local Economic Development
The Third Local Economic Development Forum will explore how the Local Economic Development approach can be considered as a tool for implementing the post 2015 development agenda and will delve into three main thematic areas:

European Council of Spatial Planner’s 11th Biennial of Towns and Town Planners. The Biennial takes place every 2 years has been running for over 20 years in different European cities. This year in Dublin, it will focus on presenting and exploring new technologies in urban planning practice and will examine innovative projects where these advances are reshaping our world today
